On Sunday 17th September at the 11am mass was the opportunity to honour 40 years of service to the parish by Judy Sheridan with the award of the Archdiocese of Southwark, Fideliter Servienti (Faithful Servant) medal. The medal is a form of recognising the faithful work done by and individual in the Diocese; work which could perhaps be described as above and beyond the call of duty.
The Fideliter Servienti award is a token of the appreciation that the Archbishop, the diocese, and the Universal Church has for the work that you have done. Following a short citatation Judy received her award from Father Emeka, along side her husband Mike.
Following Mass, a large number of our parish community joined together for a bring and share lunch in the Parish Hall. There were so many people, such amazing food and a lovely atmosphere. It really showed the strength of our community.
During the lunch, the parish joined in to sing "For She's A Jolly Good SINGER", and Happy Birthday in anticipation of Judy's birthday in a few days time. Judy also cut a magnificent cake made by one of our parisioners - which was later very avidly consumed!!
